Stop waiting to get motivated!

Today I didn’t want to run! To be honest there are not too many days where I wake up and say, “oh man it would be great to go outside and run in below freezing temperatures!”

I get teased or people make comments like, “you must be crazy to want to wake up early and run!” Maybe I’m a little crazy, but to be honest I don’t want to do a lot of those things. I really just want to be a better runner than you! If you are not willing to wake up early, then I will do that. If you aren’t willing to go to bed early, then I will do that. If you aren’t willing to run hard when it’s hard to run, then I’m going to do that.

People talk A LOT about running and trying to motivate you. I’m not trying to motivate you. I’m trying to tell you that it is a decision I made and you can make yourself. On the outside I might look motivated all the time, but I’m not. I choose to be in a good mood and I decide that I’m going to make today awesome. You can always want to be better and faster and healthier, but it isn’t until you put in the work that you will see it.

I’m not saying go @davidgoggins on this. I’m saying stop waiting to get motivated. Stop telling me you will be there in the morning and not showing up. I will be there! Why? Because I want to be better than I was yesterday!

Stop talking about it. Go out and get a little better each day. You’re not going to get fit in a week or a month, but I promise you if you are consistent and do the things others won’t, you will be better. Don’t believe me? Come run with the sharks and we will show you!
